Sponsored Walk by Young People in care

Children & young people living in care in Buckinghamshire or from Buckinghamshire but placed in a different county took part in a sponsored walk to raise funds for Ollie.

The young people have donated money that was donated to them through NYAS Buckinghamshire (National Youth Advocacy Service) that supports young people in care with Independent Visitors (a befriending volunteer service).

A project set up Aspire 2 Experience, named by the young people,

came up with the idea of the charity walk & as many of them are of the same age as Ollie & knew of him, chose his charity to donate too.

On 30 September 2017 at 11am young people & their Independent visitors (volunteers) went out walking & took the NYAS bear with them.

Photos of the bear were taken in different locations across Buckinghamshire and England to show where they had all walked.

This was a great experience for our young people in care to learn about giving a little back, to make a positive contribution and to get some fresh air & exercise.

We were all very sorry to hear about Ollie’s passing & we hope our donation can help with brain tumour research.
